Yes, I've failed more than one audition.
There's a saying that the most successful people have actually encountered more faulures than successes in their lifetime. I like to think that I'm slowly making my way toward success, and let me tell you, the road you take for any career you follow is fraught with failures.
It doesn't even matter if you absolutely love what you do--you will inevitably encounter failure at some point(s) or another. I think that's the reason why a lot of us give up early. We have these lofty dreams of what we want to become, but when we actually go to try it, we find out it's a lot harder than we thought. We're not always lauded for our hard work. Sometimes we're told we're just not good enough. Other times, you're straight-up rejected.
Failures, however, have been the most revealing experiences for me. I have learned so much about myself, my strengths, my weaknesses, and where I may have gaps in knowledge or skill. Most importantly, I learn how strong I am and just how much music means to me. I have found that the hope of being able to help others drives my entire career.
Through this knowledge, I have found the strength and the drive to push forward, through all the failures. And I'm thankful for failures. I wouldn't be who I am today without them.
