I came up with the idea for this video when I made an absolute fail of a video 2 weeks ago. That was the time I just gave up... and then, of course, came up with the idea of the "Practice with Me" videos.
At that point, I had given up on coming up with a video idea and went with just showing you guys random things on my bookshelf. Usually this goes really well, but this time it was such a train wreck! I ended up talking way too much about how Victor Borge affected my career, instead of just showing you guys the sweet deal I got on his DVDs ($14 for the whole set, in its original sealed packaging, at a flea market!).
I tried to edit it, but I couldn't keep going with it. This happens very rarely, but I was cringing so hard at how terrible it was (the lighting was really, really bad too) that I just abruptly stopped working on it.
That evening, as I was attempting to hash out an idea for another video, I finally realized what my heart wanted to say in that mess of a video I shot. I really wanted to share my comedy influences! I noticed that I ended up talking way too much about Anna Russell, even though I had nothing to show in terms of merchandise. So why not just make a video primarily about Victor Borge and Anna Russell?
Hope you guys enjoy hearing about my comedic influences. :)
