Some of you have asked me to talk about what it's like to transition to a new teacher, and it actually made me think of what it was like to leave a teacher, especially a beloved one.
I already thought I appreciated her so much when I was a kid, but when I grew up and became a teacher myself, oh boy, did I learn just how much that amazing woman did for me. She put aside her love of the piano, her pride as a teacher, and even her income to make sure she was making the healthy choice for me.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I owe Carmencita Aspiras my entire musical career. Thank you so much, Mrs. Aspiras. <3
